Yom Hashoah programs at the Mid-Island Y JCC (co-sponsored by YIP): Youth Program: (4pm) Building Blocks Workshops - Using LEGO blocks, Stephen Schwartz, an architect, will assist children to build a replica of the Warsaw Ghetto and then “walk” participants through it as he shares stories about the Warsaw Ghetto, especially talking about people such as Emanuel Ringelblum, Mordechai Anielewicz and Janusz Korczak. PARENTS ARE WELCOME AS WELL!!
Main Program: (7:30pm) A presentation by Vincent Marmorale, President of Italy and the Holocaust Foundation, and Walter Kleinman on the Italian people’s efforts to save the Jews. They have gone back to Italy together and reconnected Walter with his Italian “family”. (Orthodox mincha and maariv minyanim on site; details to follow.) - Wednesday, May 1
